To travel is to fulfill a dream!

“The world is a book and those who don’t travel read only one page.” Saint Augustine

“If you think adventure is dangerous, Try routine It’s lethal.” Paulo Coelho

“The real voyage of discovery consist not in seeking new landscape but in having new eyes” Marcel Proust

“The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.” Oprah Winfrey

Beautiful lines? Aren’t these? To travel is to live and to live is to dream! We all nurture few dreams in our heart all safe and wrapped up cozily under the layers of that delicate heart. The dreams which gives us hope, courage, passion and achievements eventually! These are the dreams which push mankind beyond obvious. This was that one simple dream which helped Columbus to discover America and ‘Vasco da Gama’ India. At the time, when everybody thought that the earth is flat and there exist no other lands. What would be that one thing which actually pushed them beyond their daily routines and presented an entire new world before the world? Must be a dream, na? A dream to see what others haven’t, A dream to take a voyage no one else had ever taken, A dream which they cared for and protected it with all the passion in their hearts! And see what was the outcome? Some truly marvellous extraordinary things came into existence every time someone dared to dream and travel to achieve that one dream. Yeah, all it takes is to dream….that one dream!

‘A whole new world of possibilities created by the overlapping of human dreams and beliefs!’

I hold such dreams too. Dream to find that treasure hidden in Atlantis, Find that hidden wardrobe which directly leads to Narnia and become their queen, fall into that rabbit hole which would lead me to Alice’s wonderlands, bring out the ruins of Dwarka, the lands of Krishna and recreate it all the same, travel to those mythical lands of Shangri-la and shout out loud to this insignificant world “Heyy, I have found it and lived too.” And why not? We can never distinguish between the myths and realities. Realities today may turn into myths someday soon and myths today may be our new realities. We never know. Right? Sometimes my adventure seeking nomadic soul just wonder……… that

Who knows what all extraordinary experiences are awaiting to be revealed by a nomadic soul like me in ‘Nubra the valley of flowers’ which is a high altitude himalayan deserts in Ladakh! The barren lands, the sand and the dunes and yeah the flowers would definitely have something to tell me.

Who knows after the relishing donkey stew and pumpkin ravioli, stocking up sausages, picking up antipasti for a lazy picnic washed down with some fizzy sizzling red local Lambrusco and sipping a Caravatti Cocktail ‘never known to tastebuds’ gourmet foods and cuisines ‘Mantua’ the Italian capital of culture and European capital of gastronomy has to offer to me!

Who knows how I am going to feel about this world after attending all those art galleries, museum exhibitions and theatre shows be it Grand Palais, Louvre, the Orsay or offbeat treasures like Musee Albert Kahn and may be just after attending a rousing, virtuosic drum events in Paris, France! This world never ends to amuse you. Right?

Who knows I might just collide with the next writing legend after Tolstoy and Fyodor Dostoevsky  who made Russian literature world famous and epitomised Russia as one of the richest and most influential culture around the world. And I might end up painting or writing something extraordinary too. We never know!

Who knows what all secrets are waiting to be revealed by me in those African forests like the Congo Basin rainforests which shelters numerous varieties of plants and animals like African forest elephants, forest buffalo, chimpanzees, bonobos and a number of subspecies of gorilla and also more than hundreds of different human cultures to display! Wow, that is incredible.

But do you think this limits my dreams? Nope my dear, there is some slight advantage in dreaming that you don’t need to stop ever. So I also aspire to explore those icy barren cold peaks of Siachen where our bravehearts fought the enemy at zero degree and face all those deadly avalanches and still manage to survive and safeguard us. I want to ride my bike from the steep peaks of Khardung La till the plains. I want to wander into those lands of Drass and Mushkoh valley which are rumoured to inculcate terrorists. I want to live one day as a fighter alongside our soldiers in those terrains of Aksai chin at Ladakh and jump at 12000 ft at some enemy land alongside our paratrooper dudes.

And yes I dream to make friends all around the world who would believe in no boundaries and countries but in one single world. And then why not traveling with that bunch of crazy people just like me and leave the pack right when it brings the monotony. To explore and experience something new again!

Wow, Isn’t this world an incredible place? Our world lies lazily among all those hidden treasures, mysteries and myths and we don’t even realise it. All it takes is to dream and to travel! Why do you think all the cuisines from Sushi to Samosa ends the human craving and appetite? There are mythical food and mystical taste which are yet to be explored. The deadliest of the jungles and the species on the verge of extinction are roaring out loud to me to embrace them or get vanished into their overwhelming supremacy. But how would I know if I don’t dare to step out of this illusionary world just to reach that ultimate truth? The myths are the ruins of a glorious past ready to be recreated with an appetite to create something gourmet into the vastness of these urban jungles. This is my dream, my passion!

But for that I need to travel with passion in my heart to fulfill this one dream of mine which imbibes the ambition to touch the sky, come back to earth only to leave to explore everything I wish for which is equally eager to emgulf me into its vastness and mystery.

Wish me luck folks! The Yves Larock ‘Rise Up’ plays loudly into my ears

My dream is to fly
Over the rainbow so high

And this eventually changes to John Denver ‘Leaving on a jet plane’

All my bags are packed
I’m ready to go
I’m standin’ here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye

………..

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you’ll wait for me
Hold me like you’ll never let me go
‘Cause I’m leavin’ on a jet plane
Don’t know when I’ll be back again

Ohhh! Who knows I just might bring another India before you guys just like the Vasco de Gama once did!

And yeah, I wish all the luck to other nomads just like me whose bags are also packed and they dream to fly high too.
