Home Decoration Ideas
“The word “Home” brings to our minds so many emotions, memories of the moments of joy, sorrow, love, hope, excitement, success and so much that we take a sigh of relief for we feel most comfortable at home. No other place in this world seems to be as cozy as our home.HOME is quite different from HOUSE..for Home is not just a mere piece of structure surrounded by walls & covered by roof but its a shelter made from well organised thoughts, surrounded by joy and happiness, covered by love and blessings and made with gusto and elan. Happiness is how you make a house into a Home. Your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a collection of what you made & brought together under one roof.Home decor, DIYs, reuse, recycle & home-styling with not much expenditure is what I will talk about. These are all which I have already done, and sharing it here”
DIY home decor craft ideas
I have many a times seen people throwing away the Keventers or Amul or Honey bottles which are there in all households. They can be easily reused and recycled by a little effort. I painted and crafted the keventers & honey bottles, which now form a beautiful corner decor in my home.
A DIY very close to my heart and super beautiful and easy is the Bird cage DIY. I painted a bird cage and wrapped it up with the fairy lights. These are now hung in my living room which gives an effect of chandelier. Easy, non expensive and beautiful all at once.
The tender coconut shell which is thrown away as soon as we consume the water, can be reused as well. I did it by using the shell as a candle stand and a flower vase. For a dinner table setting for guests, instead of tea light candle stands and vases, just use your empty tender coconut shell, as I used. I am sure it will be loved by all.
DIY Home decor ideas for gardens
I used old boots and shoes & shoes as planters for my greens, which gave a very cool & innovative touch to my decor. You can also create a garden for kids using their tattered school bags, shoes even tiffin boxes using small little plants or saplings and hung around in the garden or in the balcony.
I also used my old hand bags, pouches, and even basket as planters. Styling greens with them is fun and looks quite beautiful and inviting. These small craft ideas can brighten up even a little garden area in balcony or even garden in small area. You can plant various Bonsai trees or even floral little plants into these.
I believe in styling with readily available items which are not costly and at the same time can add character to the decor. Moving houses and settling at different set up is an integral part of Army life so sometimes I have even set up my own gardens even in small and limited spaces too. Like this kind of garden set up can easily be used against a wall at home. Kids would simply love reading their books at that corner. This set up can also be created for any related themed ladies meet.
Home Decor Ideas For Living room
Home Decor ideas for living rooms don’t depend upon huge spaces to create the magic. Even a little imagination can take good design to the next level. I use bright colours, bold spaces and largest available spaces i.e. walls for providing my living room an aesthetic look. I utilize my furniture and sofas with a holistic perspective and use them to create a welcome variety into the same old living room time and again. Here are some of the examples straight from my drawing room.
The rose magic brings so much laid back seductiveness into my quiet living room. My new disco cushion covers(as I call them because of the sequin) in the background add to the colour and this decorative candle stand does not only serve as a great home decor item but also lot of fragrance into the room.
Just the change of cushion covers and replacing some new home decor articles with more of DIY home decor hacks in the living room fills it with possibilities and instantly perk up any small apartment with a cosy and stylish look.
Lights, artificial plants, furnishing, artifact, antiques even the waste items in a house can add a very aesthetic and decorative look even to a small little house if placed imaginatively. Whether you’re an art collector, a nature enthusiast, or a book lover, your walls can be customized so that you can be surrounded by the things you adore. You can bring in patterns and textures on the walls all by yourself using wallpapers, stencils, paintings or even family photograph. You can also colour your walls learning some house painting techniques online and buying similar amazing but rather cheap home decoration artifacts easily available online on websites like Amazon or even from the home decor shop near you. All it takes is little imagination and personal touch. Here is my sister’s balcony which glows in the aura of her personal decorating inspirations. The center rack is an old iron rack which she painted using bold colours and placed creatively in her balcony. The colorful cushions on neutral coloured bamboo furniture add to much of the charm. Perfect for a coffee set up.
