The massive floods in Kerala have been declared a calamity of severe nature. A total of 10,28000 people are housed in more than 3000 relief camps all across the district of Kerala. More than 400 people have lost their lives in rains,floods and landslide in Kerala floods. And when thousands of stranded people were waiting to be rescued and praying for help,  God answered their prayers wearing uniforms. Not me, said a flood victim, one of the rescued flood victim tweeted

“All the temples, mosques and churches here are drowned in water, but God came wearing uniforms to save us”

Armed forces are lauded whole heartedly by Kerala flood victims and everywhere around the world. Flood victims in Kerala when truly lost hopes were rescued heroically by the real heroes from Armed forces. The Indian Army soldiers ensured to reach last corner of the farthest flood hit area, even choppers were landed risking aircrew lives to save flood victims. Soldiers carried hundreds of children,elders,disabled and many more  unable to swim or walk through flowing water on their shoulders and walked many miles themselves. They constructed rope and wood log make shift bridges in extreme conditions using only the available resources to save lives. They walked day and night and even under rains to save as many lives as they could. Army Navy, Air force, ITBP, NDRF and many others ensured to contribute as much as they could.

Indian Navy launched ‘Operation Madad’ and Indian Army launched ‘operation Sahyog’ to assist state administration and undertake disaster relief operations due to unprecedented flooding. Naval helicopters were also deployed for ferrying divers, power tools, axes and relief material to flooded areas to augment ongoing relief operations. Indian Army is not only constructing temporary bridges to facilitate commute between various areas but also repairing the old bridges damaged in floods. The aim is to reach the last man in the farthest corner of Kerala and rescue him.
